Prescott Dances of Universal Peace

Daylight, full of small dancing particles
and the one great turning, our souls
are dancing with you, without feet, they dance.
Can you see them when I whisper in your ear?

Universal Sufism

Ongoing activities related to Universal Sufism include Zikr, the Universal Worship Service, the Healing Ritual, Gathas and Gathekas classes.

Zikr is a the chanting or speaking of sacred phrases as a form of personal atunement.
"So it is with sounds. But the power of sound is greater than the power of color. Why is this? It is because sound arises from the depth of one's being, and because sound can also touch the depth of one's being. The mantra yoga of the Hindus is based on this principle. The Sufi term for this is dhikr (zikr): that is the use of words for the unfolding of the soul."
     - Hazrat Inayat Kahn

The Universal Worship Service is a religious service so named because it aims to promote the unity of religious ideals, to give an opportunity to those belonging to different religions to worship together, and to discover that there is one source from which all scriptures have come.
"The different candles, which are lighted in the Universal Worship, signify our adherence and our respect to all different teachers, different religions, and different scriptures. Therefore this universal worship, the Church of All, is in reality all churches. It is a service, it is a worship, and at the same time it is a training of our minds to tolerate the religions of different people."
     - Hazrat Inayat Kahn

The Healing Ritual, developed by Hazrat Inayat Kahn, is a group healing service that does distance healing through attunement, prayer, meditation, and concentration. During the Healing Ritual participants work specifically with 10 people's names, who must have agreed to be included on the prayer list.
"To develop healing power one must regulate and control the senses by regulating their activity and repose; and this, done with a spiritual thought, converts power of mind into divine power. A person can heal with power of mind alone, but the results will be limited; but a person with divine power can obtain through it unlimited results."
     - Hazrat Inayat Khan

The Gathekas

If anybody asks you, "What is Sufism? What religion is it?", you may answer,
"Sufism is the religion of the heart, the religion in which the most important thing is to seek God in the heart of humankind."
     - Hazrat Inayat Kahn
This is an introduction to the Sufi Path through readings from the papers of Pir-O-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan, who brought Sufism to the West. This class series is for anyone interested in learning about universal Sufism (through Hazrat Inayat Kahn's lineage) and those that are considering a commitment to the Sufi Path.

The Gathas are the transcribed collection of talks Hazrat Inayat Kahn gave to his students.
